A significant birthday. A private wedding. A party at a country house where the entertainment has to be extraordinary and nothing can go wrong in front of the people who matter most. Lux Technical produces private events where the production is invisible until it isn't, by design.
Tell us about your event
There is a version of private event production where someone turns up with a van, hands over a microphone, and wishes you luck. That works for a pub function room. It does not work when you are throwing a party that sixty of your closest friends and family will remember for the next twenty years, and a live band needs a proper stage, and the garden lighting needs to look considered rather than strung up at the last minute.
Private clients who commission Lux Technical get a production team that treats the event as a professional brief. A site visit. A production schedule. Crew who know where to be and when. Equipment that is designed in, not improvised in. And a crew that disappears the moment load-out is done.
A private event is not a scaled-down version of a corporate show. The expectations are different, the constraints are different, and the audience is the people the client cares about most. We approach every private event with that in mind.
Stage design and build for private estates, gardens and marquee events. We survey the location, design a stage that fits both the entertainment requirements and the aesthetic of the setting, and build it to a specification that allows the acts to perform properly and guests to see clearly from all positions.
Outdoor staging for private events ›Full technical support for live bands, tribute acts, celebrity DJs and private concert bookings. We manage the rider, provide backline where required, set up front-of-house and monitor mixing positions, and brief crew on the specific requirements of each artist. The entertainment plays, the client enjoys it.
Private concert production ›Lighting that shifts across the night, from arrival through dinner to late evening. Uplighting the structure, washing the dance floor, illuminating the garden. Controlled by an operator who reads the room and adjusts as the night progresses. Not a preset scene left on until midnight.
Lighting for private events ›50th, 60th and 70th birthday events produced to a level the guest of honour will remember. We work with the host and any event planner on the running order, the entertainment brief, the room transitions, and the technical requirements for speeches, videos and live acts. One point of contact for everything technical.
Milestone birthday production ›Technical production for private weddings where the couple have a vision beyond what a wedding DJ and a standard PA can deliver. Stage for the band, ceremony sound, speeches setup, evening transformation lighting. Coordinated with the venue, the wedding planner and any performers to run seamlessly without the couple needing to manage it.
Wedding production ›Intimate production for private dining events, fundraising dinners in private venues, and VIP reception formats. Background music, presentation capability, microphone setups for speeches, and lighting that complements a table setting. Crew dressed appropriately and briefed on the level of discretion required.
Private dining production ›Every private event is different. Location, guest count, entertainment format, and what the client considers important. What these have in common: production that is not noticed until someone asks who did it.
130 guests, outdoor marquee, six-piece live band and celebrity DJ. The client wanted the band on a proper stage with no cables visible on the approach. We designed a covered stage structure, ran all power and cabling under the marquee flooring, and provided full front-of-house mixing and monitoring. Lighting transformed from dinner setting through band performance to DJ close, all operated by one of our team reading the room. The client's family said it was the best party they had been to.
The couple had booked a well-known acoustic band for the ceremony and a five-piece jazz band for the reception. The venue's in-house PA was not suitable for either. We provided a full PA for the ceremony space, managed the acoustic band's monitor requirements, and transformed to a full band stage setup for the reception in under forty minutes during the wedding breakfast. The transition was invisible to guests. The couple had one conversation with us during the day.
A client commissioned a private performance by a named artist for a group of twenty guests at their London home. The artist had a specific technical rider. We managed the advance call, sourced the specified backline, and built a minimal stage set into the client's drawing room without leaving any marks on the period flooring or walls. The performance ran for ninety minutes. Load-out was complete before the last guests left. The client's estate manager confirmed they would use us again.
A host commissioned a private fundraising dinner for 45 guests at a private members club, with a keynote speaker, live string quartet for dinner, and a short entertainment set after. We provided a discreet speech PA and lectern setup for the keynote, managed the quartet's requirements, coordinated the entertainment briefing, and struck all equipment between courses as agreed with the venue. No visible cables during service. The events manager rated our crew the most professional external team they had worked with in two years.
There are production companies that produce private events on the side of their corporate work. We treat private clients as a distinct discipline, because the requirements and expectations are genuinely different.
No photographs taken without permission. No social media posts. No references in case studies without explicit consent. Your event is your private business, and our crew are briefed before they arrive that it stays that way.
We visit every private event location before production day. Country houses have load-in constraints, access routes, power supply limitations and acoustic characteristics that you cannot plan around from a floor plan alone.
We handle the advance with the artist or their management, confirm the technical requirements, and produce the stage plot and input list. You should never be relaying technical questions between a band and a production company on your own event.
One person manages your event from enquiry to load-out. They are the person who did the site visit, the person who briefed the crew, and the person you can reach at 8pm on the day if anything needs adjusting. Not a relay through an admin team.
Private events often take place in exceptional environments: period properties, private clubs, luxury hotels. Our crew are dressed and briefed appropriately. They do not stand out in a formal dining room or walk through a guest area in high-vis.
Load-in and load-out are scheduled around the client's programme, not around crew convenience. Guests arrive to a finished production. They leave to a clean venue. The build and the breakdown are not part of their experience.
Private event production works best when we are involved early. The earlier we do a site visit, the more we can resolve before the day matters. Fill in the form, or call us to have an initial conversation. All enquiries are treated in confidence.
